THE FINE PRINT, IN PLAIN LANGUAGE

Privacy.

Our landing page lists the principles we hold ourselves to. This page is those principles made specific: what we collect, where it lives, and what we will never do with it. It is written to be read, not to be scrolled past.

01

Who we are, and who this covers

Salvastra provides parking intelligence to residential properties: cameras at a property detect vehicles, the record answers questions, and people make the enforcement calls. This policy covers two groups: visitors to this website, and the people whose vehicles appear at properties our customers operate.

If you live at, or visit, a property that uses Salvastra, the property is our customer and decides how the service is used there. This page explains what we do on their behalf.

02

What this website collects

The public site sets no tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics. If you send us a note through the contact form, we store what you typed (your name, email, and message) and use it for exactly one thing: replying to you.

The customer console requires sign-in, which uses a session cookie from our authentication provider. That cookie exists to keep you signed in, nothing else.

03

What the service collects at a property

Cameras at the property are analyzed on site by a computer we install there. When a vehicle is detected, an event leaves the property: a license plate reading, a photo of the moment, a timestamp, the camera it came from, and vehicle attributes such as color, type, make, and model.

Properties also maintain a registry: the plates that belong, with labels like a unit number or a guest pass window. The property provides this; we store it to judge whether a sighted vehicle is authorized.

Operators can view a live camera feed on demand. Continuous video is not uploaded or stored in our cloud.

04

What we will never do

We do not sell data. Not aggregated, not anonymized, not ever.

We do not run facial recognition, and we do not build profiles of people. The record is about vehicles and events at a property, not about anyone's life. A person who is not part of a problem leaves nothing behind here.

We do not volunteer data to law enforcement or any government body. Requests concerning a property's data are directed to that property. We disclose data only when legally compelled to, and we will tell the affected property unless the law forbids it.

05

How reading a plate works

The photo of a detected vehicle is read by an AI model from Anthropic (Claude) to extract the plate text and vehicle attributes. Anthropic processes those images to provide that service and does not train its models on them. The judgment of what happens after a detection always belongs to people, never to the model.

06

Where data lives

We believe you should know where your data physically is. Our infrastructure providers are: Vercel (this website), Fly.io (application servers), Neon (the database of record), Tigris (photo storage), Anthropic (plate and attribute reading), Resend (email we send you), and Clerk (console sign-in). Each processes data only to provide its service to us.

07

Retention and removal

Event records and photos are retained for the property while it uses Salvastra, so its record stays useful for disputes and questions. When a property leaves, its data is deleted on request.

If you believe a record involves you and want it reviewed or removed, contact the property, or reach us directly and we will coordinate with them.

08

Reaching us

Questions about any of this deserve an answer from a person. Use the contact form on our homepage, or reply to any email you have received from us, and you will hear back quickly.

If this policy changes, the date below changes with it, and material changes will be called out plainly rather than buried.
